AVIONICS ENGINEER
Ares Industries is a defense technology startup aiming to be the weapons prime of the 21st century. We are focused on delivering cutting-edge missile systems and building the critical weapons that the U.S. and its allies need to prevent global conflict. Our team is a group of aerospace nerds and engineers who believe in the power of engineering to shape geopolitics. At Ares, you will work in a high-intensity, engineering-driven environment where rapid iteration, real-world testing, and mission impact take priority over bureaucracy.
Ares is seeking an Avionics Engineer to develop and integrate embedded flight hardware for missile guidance and control. This role will focus on real-time processing, sensor interfaces, GPS/INS integration, and power distribution to support avionics systems. The ideal candidate has experience in PCB design, power systems, and aerospace electronics.
Key Responsibilities:
-- Develop embedded flight hardware, including PCB layouts and sensor integration.
-- Design and test power distribution systems for avionics and flight-critical subsystems.
-- Work on real-time processing for guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) interfaces.
-- Assist with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing and MIL-STD compliance.
-- Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations and avionics validation testing.
Qualifications:
-- 4+ years of experience in avionics, aerospace electronics, or embedded systems.
-- Proficiency in PCB design and power management systems.
-- Experience with real-time embedded systems, FPGAs, or microcontrollers (ARM, TI, PIC).
-- Strong understanding of flight sensors, GPS, INS, and actuator control.
Preferred Experience:
-- Experience with high-reliability electronics for aerospace or military applications.
-- Hands-on experience with flight hardware integration and testing.
-- Background in HIL testing and avionics system validation.
