EO/IR SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Ares Industries is a defense technology startup aiming to be the weapons prime of the 21st century. We are focused on delivering cutting-edge missile systems and building the critical weapons that the U.S. and its allies need to prevent global conflict. Our team is a group of aerospace nerds and engineers who believe in the power of engineering to shape geopolitics. At Ares, you will work in a high-intensity, engineering-driven environment where rapid iteration, real-world testing, and mission impact take priority over bureaucracy.

Ares is seeking an EO/IR Systems Engineer to develop and integrate infrared and electro-optical sensors for missile guidance and targeting. This role will focus on real-time image processing, sensor fusion, and environmental calibration to enhance detection and tracking capabilities. The ideal candidate has expertise in infrared imaging, signal processing, and sensor fusion.

Key Responsibilities:

-- Develop and integrate EO/IR sensor payloads for targeting and guidance.

-- Design image processing algorithms for target detection and tracking.

-- Work with avionics and software teams to integrate sensor fusion with GPS/INS data.

-- Conduct radiometric calibration, optical testing, and environmental qualification.

-- Support hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and flight demonstrations.

Qualifications:

-- 4+ years of experience in EO/IR sensor integration and electro-optical systems.

-- Strong background in infrared imaging, target tracking, and signal processing.

-- Experience with real-time vision processing and sensor fusion algorithms.

-- Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 environmental testing and sensor calibration techniques.

Preferred Experience:

-- Hands-on experience in military EO/IR targeting systems or missile seekers.

-- Expertise in FPGA-based image processing and real-time vision applications.

-- Background in HIL testing and sensor validation.
