HEAD OF AIRFRAME & STRUCTURES
Ares Industries is a defense technology startup aiming to be the weapons prime of the 21st century. We are focused on delivering cutting-edge missile systems and building the critical weapons that the U.S. and its allies need to prevent global conflict. Our team is a group of aerospace nerds and engineers who believe in the power of engineering to shape geopolitics. At Ares, you will work in a high-intensity, engineering-driven environment where rapid iteration, real-world testing, and mission impact take priority over bureaucracy.
Ares is seeking a Head of Airframe & Structures to lead the design, analysis, and manufacturing of missile airframes. This role will be responsible for ensuring high-strength, lightweight structures capable of withstanding launch stresses, in-flight loads, and environmental conditions. The ideal candidate will have experience in composite structures, metallic fabrication, and aerospace manufacturing.
-- Lead the design and development of airframes for missile systems across a range of aerodynamic envelopes.
-- Perform structural analysis to validate load-bearing capacity, aerodynamic performance, and material selection.
-- Oversee the integration of propulsion, avionics, and warhead systems within the airframe.
-- Manage composite and metallic manufacturing processes, ensuring high-quality production.
-- Conduct structural and environmental testing to validate real-world performance.
Qualifications:
-- 10+ years of experience in aerospace structural design and analysis.
-- Strong knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) and structural mechanics.
-- Experience with composite materials, bonded structures, and lightweight metal fabrication.
-- Familiarity with missile aerodynamics, vibration loading, and rapid manufacturing techniques.
Preferred Experience:
-- Experience with missile, UAV, or aerospace vehicle structures.
-- Hands-on experience with composite layups, CNC machining, or additive manufacturing.
-- Proficiency in CATIA, ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar structural analysis tools.
