HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Ares is seeking a Head of Business Development to drive sales, partnerships, and customer engagement for our missile systems. This role will focus on DoD acquisition strategy, direct engagement with military stakeholders, and securing contracts across defense programs. The ideal candidate has experience navigating DoD procurement pathways and aligning emerging technologies with national defense priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
-- Develop and execute strategies to position Ares' missile systems within DoD programs.
-- Build and maintain relationships with military stakeholders, acquisition offices and program managers.
-- Identify and pursue contract opportunities across SBIR, OTAs, and direct procurement channels.
-- Provide strategic insight into DoD acquisition processes, budgeting cycles, and program alignment.
-- Represent Ares at industry conferences, military briefings, and classified discussions.
Qualifications:
-- Proven experience in weapons systems sales or DoD program acquisitions.
-- Existing relationships within acquisition and procurement offices.
-- Deep understanding of DoD contracting mechanisms, funding pathways, and program development.
-- Ability to shape requirements and position Ares' solutions within DoD programs.
Preferred Experience:
-- Prior military or government service with experience in defense acquisitions or procurement.
-- Active security clearance (TS/SCI preferred) or eligibility to obtain one.
-- Experience with defense innovation programs, including SBIR, RDT&E, or rapid acquisition channels.
