Ares Industries is a defense technology startup aiming to be the weapons prime of the 21st century. We are focused on delivering cutting-edge missile systems and building the critical weapons that the U.S. and its allies need to prevent global conflict. Our team is a group of aerospace nerds and engineers who believe in the power of engineering to shape geopolitics. At Ares, you will work in a high-intensity, engineering-driven environment where rapid iteration, real-world testing, and mission impact take priority over bureaucracy.
Are you a hands-on engineer with a passion for propulsion and a knack for building state-of-the-art test infrastructure? We're looking for a Propulsion Test Engineer to join our team and drive the development and execution of test campaigns for both solid rocket motors and jet engines.
In this role, you'll be instrumental in bringing our next-generation propulsion systems to life. You'll have the unique opportunity to design, build, and commission test stands from the ground up, then use them to gather vital performance data.
What you'll do:
-- Develop and commission test stands for energetics and air-breathing propulsion systems in including all necessary infrastructure, instrumentation, and control systems.
-- Plan, execute, and oversee propulsion tests, develop test procedures and ensure all procedures are followed and data is accurately captured.
-- Perform comprehensive data reduction and analysis on test results to derive meaningful insights and validate performance.
-- Clearly and concisely communicate test results to internal and external stakeholders through detailed test reports and presentations.
-- Champion and enforce stringent safety protocols during all phases of test stand development and operation.
-- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to test stand operation and data acquisition.
What you'll bring:
-- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
-- Proficiency in data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and control software.
-- Experience with developing data acquisition software and analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW etc).
-- Proven experience in propulsion testing, with hands-on experience developing and operating test stands.
-- Demonstrated commitment to safety in high-energy test environments.
-- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Bonus points if you have:
-- Experience with both solid rocket motor and jet engine testing.
-- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
