MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Ares Industries is a defense technology startup aiming to be the weapons prime of the 21st century. We are focused on delivering cutting-edge missile systems and building the critical weapons that the U.S. and its allies need to prevent global conflict. Our team is a group of aerospace nerds and engineers who believe in the power of engineering to shape geopolitics. At Ares, you will work in a high-intensity, engineering-driven environment where rapid iteration, real-world testing, and mission impact take priority over bureaucracy.

Ares is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, integration, and manufacturing of missile airframes. This role will focus on composite and metallic structures, mechanical interfaces, and aerodynamic surfaces for cruise missile systems. The ideal candidate has experience in structural design, material selection, and precision manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

-- Design and analyze mechanical systems and structural components for missile airframes.

-- Develop composite layups, bonded structures, and lightweight metallic assemblies.

-- Perform FEA stress and vibration analysis to validate structural integrity.

-- Work with fabrication teams to ensure manufacturability and assembly feasibility.

-- Integrate mounting interfaces for avionics, propulsion, and warhead systems.

Qualifications:

-- 4+ years of experience in mechanical or structural engineering for aerospace applications.

-- Strong background in composite materials, metallic structures, and structural adhesives.

-- Proficiency in CAD modeling (CATIA, SolidWorks, NX) and FEA tools (Abaqus, ANSYS, Nastran).

-- Experience with fastener selection, thermal expansion modeling, and fatigue analysis.

Preferred Experience:

-- Hands-on experience in composite layup, 3D printing, and CNC machining.

-- Prior work in missile or UAV airframe design.

-- Background in high-speed aerostructures and dynamic loading analysis.
